Friday, April 8

If you, although being wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more so will the Father in heaven give holy spirit to those asking him!—Luke 11:13.

God’s active force is a gift we should treasure. We can deepen our appreciation for holy spirit by reflecting on what that spirit has accomplished in our day. Before Jesus ascended to heaven, he told his disciples: “You will receive power when the holy spirit comes upon you, and you will be witnesses of me . . . to the most distant part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8) With the backing of holy spirit, some eight and a half million worshippers of Jehovah have been gathered from every corner of the earth. Also, we enjoy a spiritual paradise because God’s spirit helps us to cultivate beautiful qualities, such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, and self-control. These qualities make up “the fruitage of the spirit.” (Gal. 5:22, 23) What a precious gift holy spirit is! w20.05 28 ¶10; 29 ¶13

You can't walk with God while holding hands with the Devil.

I needed this DT today; I was reminded that when I ask for Jehovah's Holy Spirit in a current personal struggle I'm dealing with, I can be certain He will bring good results.  I am a stubborn "child" who often forgets to rely on my Heavenly Father Jehovah.  I consistently try to do things my way, only to find myself needing His way in order to correct my errors and direct my feet properly.

I am so grateful that we have Jehovah God, the best Father ever, to teach us what is right; this allows us to recognize that everything in Satan's system is completely wrong! Know the truth, then you will be able to recognize to counterfeit. :) ❤️

Holy spirit is indeed a gift to treasure. It enables us to get along well with our fellow believers. Also when we cultivate its fruitage, we're able to enhance and enjoy our spiritual paradise.

I think that's an excellent point Brother!

Oh yes, Holy Spirit is a beautiful, awesome, powerful gift that is definitely a treasure. I wasn't very nice when I was in the world. Made a few enemies. Now, I plead with Jah most days to " please let me love my brother' and sis' and be peaceable". Jehovah gives me that beautiful gift everytime. I am a big work in progress 🙃🙃

I think self-control is a huge one. Even for those long in the truth, some could have a tendency to feel everything they say or do is ok because of their long time service. But everyone still has to work on not putting their foot in their mouth, and proactive in applying the fruitages of the hs, namely peace.

I heard a great quote once - it’s important to “be peacemakers vs. peace-breakers.“ Also, like the day’s text brought out, if we constantly remember to pray and apply the fruitages of the holy spirit, then we‘ll avoid intentionally getting in disagreements but instead humbly work on peace and brotherly love.

- Read the Bible daily
